WOMEN’S SUPPORT GROUP
Thursday evenings 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Westfields Hospital in New Richmond.

The use of physical, sexual, verbal and psychological abuse can occur in close relationships. These types of abuse are used by one person to maintain power and control over another. Support groups are a great way to see that you are not alone. Turningpoint offers a relaxed atmosphere to discuss domestic violence issues. Children can have fun and learn to express feelings positively.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION
A representative from Turningpoint is available to speak on any of the following topics or any additional related topics as requested. Presentations are available to all community groups.

*SAFE TOUCH
Identifies different types of touch and feelings associated with each, explains the four safety rules for touches that do not feel safe, practices responding to confusing situations, and practices saying "no".

*PROTECTIVE BEHAVIORS
Learn that everybody has the right to feel safe and that you can tell anything to someone you trust. Learn your body’s early warning signs of unsafe situations.

*DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Define the four types of abuse (physical, sexual, verbal and psychological) and learn the effects of abuse on adults and children. Learn what to do if it happens to you.

*SEXUAL HARASSMENT
Definitions. Learn how gender roles and socialization contribute to sexual harassment. Learn what to do if it happens to you or someone you love.

*DATE RAPE
